California Faculty Bios Now Posted!

With the Bastyr University California Grand Opening just over a week away, we've updated our People page to include the new faculty members at our San Diego campus. The new faculty members include:

  • Young Cho, PhD
    Young Cho, PhD — The longtime Department of Basic Sciences core faculty member is taking his experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses for students of naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and Oriental medicine, herbal sciences and nutrition, to our new San Diego campus. 
  • Nan Lin, MD, PhD  — The core faculty member in the Department of Basic Sciences and director of the human anatomy lab was formerly an assistant professor of anatomy in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, Ga. Dr. Lin believes that learning is a lifelong experience, especially for those who practice medicine.
  • Monique Mazza, ND
  • Monique Mazza, ND — Formerly the vice president and legislative chairperson of California Naturopathic Doctors Association, Dr. Mazza will be a clinical and adjunct faculty member in the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University California. She believes in educating and empowering her patients to understand their illness in an effort to raise awareness of their powerful healing vital force.
  • Tabatha Parker, ND
  • Tabatha Parker, ND — The co-founder and current executive director of Natural Doctors International (NDI), is bringing her expertise in global health and naturopathic medicine to Bastyr University California as a core faculty member in the School of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Parker, who has been living in Nicaragua, the second-poorest country in the western hemisphere, has worked in the trenches seeing how structural violence affects people and health and will bring this first-hand knowledge to her students.
  • Jessica Dominguez Rieg, PhD — The core faculty member in the Department of Basic Sciences at Bastyr University California is passionate about working with clinicians to teach students in an integrative learning environment about the fundamentals of physiology using a systems-based approach, with a focus on natural healing and whole-person medicine.
  • Heide Wittmann, ND
    Heide Wittmann, ND — The adjunct clinical and academic faculty member in the School of Naturopathic Medicine is a naturopathic doctor currently practicing in San Diego. Dr. Wittmann believes in inspiring patients to trust and honor the inherent healing capacity of their body, mind and soul.
