APPLE Core Program Returns for Second Year

Bastyr University is proud to announce its innovative APPLE Core program is back again this summer for the second year in a row!

The "Active Pediatric and Parental Lifestyle Education" workshop aims to combat America's childhood obesity epidemic by engaging children and parents to work together to change habits at home. Dr. Tiffany Reiss and a team of nutrition student volunteers will teach families about whole-food nutrition, culinary skills, physical activities and how to work on behavioral changes.

The one-day event will take place on campus on August 11, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. APPLE Core is open to children ages 8 - 12 years old and their parents or caretakers. There is a $15 registration fee per family (which includes lunch and a QFC gift card for each family).
